  44.         and  setting  up  The  Alcor Cash Register.  If  you  need  extra

  51.         The Alcor Cash Register is easy to use. You select the tasks  you 
  52.         want to perform from a series of menus that are displayed on  the

  65.         DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  67.         Shareware  distribution  gives  users a chance  to  try  software 
  68.         before  buying  it. If you try a Shareware program  and  continue 
  69.         using  it,  you  are expected to  register.  Individual  programs 
  70.         differ  on  details  -- some request  registration  while  others 
  71.         require   it,   some  specify  a  maximum  trial   period.   With 
  72.         registration, you get anything from the simple right to  continue 
  73.         using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  75.         Copyright  laws apply to both Shareware and commercial  software, 
  76.         and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few  specific 
  77.         exceptions  as stated below. Shareware authors  are  accomplished 
  78.         programmers,  just like commercial authors, and the programs  are 
  79.         of  comparable quality. (In both cases, there are  good  programs 
  80.         and  bad  ones!)  The  main  difference  is  in  the  method   of 
  81.         distribution.  The author specifically grants the right  to  copy 
  82.         and  distribute  the software, either to all and sundry or  to  a 
  83.         specific  group.  For  example,  some  authors  require   written 
  84.         permission  before  a  commercial  disk  vendor  may  copy  their 
  85.         Shareware.

  87.         Shareware  is a distribution method, not a type of software.  You 
  88.         should  find  software  that suits  your  needs  and  pocketbook, 
  89.         whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system  makes 
  90.         fitting  your needs easier, because you can try before  you  buy.

  128.         software.  You  are  free to copy and  distribute  this  software 
  129.         freely,  however, if you find it of use to you, you are  required 
  130.         to  register  your copy. Registering your copy  of  the  software 
  131.         helps   the  author  continue  to  provide   professional-quality 
  132.         software at very reasonable prices.

  134.         At  the  end of your 30 day trial period, you must  register  The 
  135.         Alcor Cash Register or delete it from your hard disk and  destroy
